Train-the-Trainers
Overview

In Train-the-Trainers (TTT), participants master the MDFT method and go on to train others in the approach. Once trained, participants are certified by MDFT International to train new staff at their agency. These trainers continue to work closely with MDFT International to deliver the highest quality training to new therapists.


Training Topics/Skills acquired include:

  • Competently Present on the Core MDFT Principles and Interventions

  • Guide Therapists through Case Conceptualization and Planning

  • Teach Therapists MDFT Youth, Parent, Family, and Community Interventions

  • Evaluate Therapists’ In-Session Work and Hone Therapeutic Skills

  • Utilize Live Supervision in Training and Supervision


WHY TTT?

  • Substantially reduces costs for providers 

  • Increases sustainability

  • Promotes agency autonomy

  • MDFT International, Inc. provides TTT to individual provider agencies or groups of agencies. We call these trainers Agency-Based Trainers


Trainer certification key activities include:

  • Observe and give feedback on reading comprehension quizzes and the MDFT Introduction

  • Observe and give feedback on weekly Case Consultation Calls

  • Review and give feedback on Case Reviews and Video Reviews

  • Observe and give feedback on Intensive Onsite Training

  • Review and give feedback on Weekly Case and Therapist Development Plans

  • Review and give feedback on Written Assessments 1 & 2
